AdGooroo has published the first edition of its Paid Search Advertising Index, a quarterly report that measures quarter over quarter progress on 6 key metrics for U.S. Google Desktop Text Ads in 14 different industry categories
Last week we looked at Apparel advertising in Paid Search in the United Kingdom, analyzing Desktop Text Ad activity on the top 2,288 Apparel-related keywords on Google.co.uk from January through July 2015. To provide a comparison with the U.S. market, we also examined the same number of top Apparel keywords for the U.S., 2,288, during the same time period on U.S. Google.
Way back in October 2009, AdGooroo found that the keyword ‘mesothelioma’ was the most expensive keyword in paid search, costing an average of $99.44 per click. We recently returned to that subject and found things have both changed and stayed the same in the ensuing years.

To gauge the top advertisers in Paid Search over the key Thanksgiving weekend shopping period, AdGooroo examined Text Ad and Product Listing Ad spend on 2,856 top retail keywords (based on ad spend) for U.S. Google Desktop/Tablet and Mobile Search from Thanksgiving, November 27, through Cyber Monday, December 1.
