Top 20 Fastest Growing Verticals In Paid Search (Aug 2010)
Posted by Richard Stokes on September 29, 2010 to Fastest Growing Categories, PPC
Who are the fastest growing verticals in paid search? To find out, we totaled estimated search spend for 246,214 advertisers across 3,515 verticals. We eliminated those verticals with less than $50,000 monthly spend in either July or August. Finally, we sorted by percent gain.
The results are intriguing and suggest that we're working through a period of further economic recovery. Do you agree? We'd love to hear your theories in the comments below.

So this means it is time to put up an ad sense site on Cowboy clothes and hats for athletes staying in Thailand.

Well that, and Maine Bed & Breakfast owners looking to purchase new Suzuki motorcycles. I'll stay away from the whole Thailand + Massage + Camcorder combo. Hi-YO!

Todd,
LOL - I don't know what's funnier: your comment or the fact that your comment set off our blogspam filter!

These don't really seem like "verticals" in the traditional sense of the word. . .

That's a pretty fair point. Is there another word that fits better? "Category" perhaps?

Auto repair is generally a signal that people are hanging onto their cars a lot longer. This is not the best news for manufacturers. I think things are getting better but with high unemployment it is going to be a longer road to full recovery.

Interesting, but I think it is questionable to use it to evaluate the economy. My spending has doubled in order to get back the business that the Google May updates took away. I wonder how much of this was for the same reason.
I will look forward to their 3rd Q results. Maybe we should buy some stock. Share the wealth.
