SEM Insight - PPC Introduction
AdGooroo SEM Insight pay-per-click reports provide advertisers with a comprehensive understanding of the competitive landscape for their keyword group within sponsored listings. SEM Insight searches each keyword in your keyword group multiple times a day, and imports the first page of sponsored results.
SEM Insight Pay-Per-Click reports reference two main metrics, Coverage and Average Position.
Coverage
In Pay-Per-Click Reports, SEM Insight defines Coverage as the frequency with which an advertiser is found serving ads on the first page of sponsored listings for a keyword or keyword group. There are two Coverage statistics found in SEM Insight, "Individual Keyword Coverage" and "Keyword Group Coverage".
Individual Keyword Coverage
"Advertiser Awesome" has a keyword "widgets". If widgets has a Coverage of 75%, that indicates that 75% of the time that SEM Insight searched widgets, Advertiser Awesome was found showing an ad on the first page of sponsored results.
Keyword Group Coverage
Keyword Group Coverage is the average coverage percentage for all keywords in the keyword group.
Keyword Group "Fun" has two keywords:
"Widgets" has 75% Coverage
"Gadgets" has 25% Coverage
Keyword Group Fun's coverage is 50% (the average of 75% and 25%)
Average Position
SEM Insight uses a ranking scale that differs from most search engines. When working with SEM Insight Pay-Per-Click reports, a keyword can have a rank between position 0 to 8.
In SEM Insight, position 1 is always the first position on the right rail. Position 0 indicates premium placement above the natrual search listings.
If there are 2 advertisers in the premium placement, ranks will be 0 and .5
If there are 3 advertisers in the premium placement, ranks will be 0, 0.3, and 0.6
If there are 4 advertisers in the premium placement, ranks will be 0, 0.25, 0.5 and 0.75
Ads showing in the right rail can have a rank between 1 and 8, starting from the first sponsored listing on the page to the last.
