Finding possible backlinks is one thing. Actually keeping track of your efforts is another. Fortunately, Link Insight comes with an integrated workflow solution that gives you a convenient place to record contact information and past history. This information is recorded on a domain level, so you don't accidentally contact the same site owner multiple times.
You can access the workflow popup window from any report that displays a link by clicking the "edit" icon (which looks like a pencil).
We've designed the workflow popup to be fast and easy to use (our goal was to make it easier to use than Excel). The first three fields auto-save as you tab through them. Below that, you can choose an activity type and enter some notes. These are then added to the activity history below. Your changes are instantly reflected on the underlying reports.
Activity Summary Report
If you're working in a team, you'll find the activity summary report to be incredibly useful for tracking your efforts. This report combines all of the historical activity steps (entered from the workflow popups) into a single report. It also tracks activities by stage and date:
