The link quality chart (which looks like a set of bell curves superimposed on top of one another) ignores the volume of backlinks and instead focuses on the overall quality of the links coming into each site. Sites which lean toward the left have low quality backlinks and should focus on building high-quality, relevant links. Sites which lean towards the right have high quality backlinks and should focus on building overall link volume.
The example below shows an example Link Quality chart. The thick black line represents the clients' link quality (which is excellent) while the maroon line indicates a site with a high percentage of poor quality backlinks.
